Staff friendly but the first company to have charged me when cancelling an automatic renewal after the renewal date. I do this every year because I’m so disorganised, and insurers have always refunded in full. Not these swines - £44 for being insured by them for 8 days! Leaves one incredibly sour taste in the mouth and wouldn’t use them again now.

Class windscreen replacement as a non fault accident.???. Had to pay a increased premium. Majority of the other insurance companies don't charge or take a portion of the no claims discount.

I moved house and The AA wanted to charge me almost the same fee that I paid for the insurance for a year.... ridiculous. When I called them to clarify and negotiate, the customer service offered two options: To pay this unfair offer, or cancel the policy. I chose to cancel and contracted another company. Never again AA.

The Olly Patrol replaced the battery and after that the radio wasn't working. Olly lied about his actions and denies it too. AA has let me down and now not ready to compensate for the Radio Damage nor for the stress and anxiety they have caused. I would not trust them. Make sure you check everything before the Patrol leaves otherwise you will end paying for the cost.

I have a membership with AA and I when I had a breakdown, I was told that they can fix in the part and my membership covered labour cost. Me and the AA guy drove to eurocar parts and then he fixed them in. Later I realised the prices that he fixed on did not match the price on eurocar parts website. I informed AA as soon as a I realised and the woman on the phone was even confused so she opened up a case. Later they sent an email explaining that Eurocar parts is their supplier but they charge through their own rates as they fit it In during the breakdown.... they are so SNEAKY. They charged me £110 extra on top of the parts! They said because i had a special membership i will only be charged for parts. This was misleading information, otherwise I would’ve never asked them to do it. If they ask you if they would like to fit in the parts, don’t go with them unless you mind them bumping you up heavily. Its disgusting what they done. You’re better off asking them what needs to be replaced and then asking your local garage person to do it!

I reported a breakdown with my new vehicle registration. They sent out a third party engineer with my old vehicle details. Luckily the third party engineer took photos of my vehicle registration. When the third party had taken my car to the mechanics, because it was so early they left my car outside the garage. When I got there in the morning when the garage was open, I noticed a parking ticket on the vehicle. I called the AA to ask for a report & they told me to wait 24 hours..after 4 days still no report. I called up again & they told me that the report is in my old vehicle details and that if I need it to be changed I should call up the third party to get that done. So I called up the third party company & they said only the AA can do that & that I should have the AA call them because they have evidence that it was my new vehicle that had broken down. So when I relayed the information back to the AA..the AA told me that they can call up but they are not going to put any pressure on the third party company to change the report with the correct vehicle registration. So basically I have a parking ticket because of the AA & a breakdown report in my old vehicle because of the AA. So now I can’t fight the Parking ticket. This is just awful and unacceptable!!!

Absolutely shocking service! Car was stuck in my drive with no mot.. spoke to AA and they said if I get it booked in for mot they would come and take it to the location. Booked my mot and called them back for them to offer me a home start add-on to my membership for £150!!!! I mentioned it was at my home the first time I called! Money making low life's!! Go to Green Flag much better!

Shocking to say the least. My elderly mum broke down on a really dangerous country road and the horrid man on the other end of the phone had no interest and hung up. Absolutely disgusted. Thank goodness the local police came to our rescue.

So I’m a NHS worker and just tried to to order breakdown cover with the AA as they stated 40% off and it stated this will be calculated at payment, this is a lie, no discount was added but they took my payment and when I called to check on this they said they are not sure why this is however it I want to cancel it will be £20!!!!! What a sneaky trick they play to steal NHS workers money!!!!

We broke down at a petrol station in our occasionally used pick-up truck and called the AA as we thought this vehicle was included in our membership.. Were told this vehicle was no longer insured, and only one (our private car) was included. We were charged £49 to get us on our way in the truck, then subsequently discovered our car, used practically on a daily basis was removed from our membership, no longer insured, and replaced by the pick up truck!! Called customer services, received no reply, so wrote to CEO, Simon Breakwell, and received response from the ' Executive Case Manager ' who did not understand our complaint, that being ' why remove our car, and replace with the truck which we did not appreciate had been removed from membership!' Have been told the £49 paid will be refunded as we are loyal members, but as we have told AA we will not be rejoining, we will wait and see if this promise is forthcoming. AA are not good at corresponding, at clarification on membership, so we are looking for breakdown insurance that we can trust to do this! In the meantime no cover on the car we drive daily!! More to say, the AA 'rescue' wore no mask, even though there is a great deal of this enforcement made on the telephone response.

The AA picked up my car and relayed it to a local Garage. They scratched the door quite badly in the process. Despite calls and images sent to them, they did nothing. To my horror they do not even have a number you can call for complaints about such incidents, only an email address but I never had a response. So if you care about your car avoid these guys as there is no accountability whatsoever.

Avoid at all costs! They claim their patrols at experts and claim to repair 8 out of 10 cars at roadside. Called them out for bonnet catch not locking in place and only remaining on safety catch, they arrived said the part has completely seized and needs replacing advised safe to drive even though advised my mechanic is 20 miles away my mechanic advised not to drive on safety catch as not safe as bonnet can flip up at any moment!! Mechanic advised part just needed to be taken off and cleaned and put back on and worked perfectly fine to remove it was just two bolts and to clean it only took break cleaner and a rag! Raised with customer service and completely ignored and are happy with their “experts” work! What a joke!! Con artists if you ask me will be cancelling membership and going elsewhere!

Hi I had very nervy experience in choosing AA car insurance in the past which was okay. A bit pricey but bearable. Then one time I was searching for home insurance and when I did an internet search it came AA first in my list at a reasonable price. So I chose it and agreed and went ahead with one year policy but then after 6 months of home insurance it keep changing its term conditions and goes and on and on and it was getting on my nerve and sending so much unnecessary letters. I read the term and conditions I did not like it because it makes it hard and harder to make a claim if there was a major accident. So I left after one or two years and quit without any explanations. They don't keep their words and always tried to change things as you go along. So My advice to please stick to Car insurance you are naturally better at fixing vehicles and not houses because otherwise it be well know YY instead of AA.

The roadside assistance we received from The AA (as a part of my car insurance by Admiral) was beyond horrific. They sent a rookie from a 3rd party garage, J Madden Garages to fix my Landrover. The rookie broke my gearbox while banging on the starter motor solenoid. Then it took me more than a week to raise a formal complaint with The AA. (Admiral refused to help.) After the investigation which I helped them with, they refused to accept liability, although the evidence was all there, crystal clear. I was left without a car during the lockdown in 2 degrees with 2 kids at home (and the nearest supermarket 2.7 miles away) for more than a month... and going. The customer service is appalling and the staff in both Admiral Insurance and The AA have zero empathy. So, if you love your car, your family, your life dont waste your time with The AA or Admiral. There are better insurance companies out there. Do not TRUST them with your car.
