Very complicated systems as it seams they are made so in order to ask more money. For example you can book full insurance and at the desk they will assure you that you need extra insurance and then they charge you penalty and fuel price if you are missingi even half a liter. While they give you not completly full tank themselves

Would give 0 stars if possible Rude staff Hidden fees - extra money for being under 25, wouldn’t accept the insurance we paid for, apparently the £200 is just a booking fee Blackmailed us to either pay a £1700 deposit or pay a £200 non refundable insurance that we didn’t need (we bought insurance through the airport website) Car arrived damaged and then they tried to take away our deposit despite the evidence (photos and a bodywork form that they had completed and signed) Never use them

Payed for collect and go,but machine was not working, so had to go to front desk at malaga Airport, got keys and went to collect car in dimly lite car park,had bag snatch and passports,credit cards and phones stolen and a lot of cash,went back to report but they didn't understand English for robbed, so spent the first 3 mornings at national police station in Airport filling out forms,totally wrecked the holiday

I was charged 375.43 euro for a scratch that was on the car when I collected it It was pointed out to the girl checking with her tablet but was not recorded. A tin of T-Cut polish and a soft rag would remove this mark in 30 seconds. No wonder Goldcars rating is 50% poor or bad. I will never go near them again.

I rarely do reviews but this one was a robbery and I want to share. It ruined my whole vacation, I hope it will help someone fall for the same trap. I booked a car through rentalcars. total rent prepaid £101.27. This included full insurance from the rentalcars website. When I arrived I was told my full insurance was not full insurance, just a refund on eventual claims and they wanted £1000 deposit. if I didn't want to block the money on my card and have little left for holidays, I needed to pay extra EUR 62. I is 11PM and I am tired. I pay. To this, it was added EUR 33 for the late time of pick up. This was another surprise. Really? I indicated it when I booked, no mention of the extra pay. it is 11Pm and I tired, I pay. So I go and check for the car. The car is not there. 55 minutes later, unanswered phone calls all over the world, the desk closed, I take a taxi and go to the hotel. I take a taxi back next day. They apologized. Surely the car was there but not in the part. just outside. They apologize for not telling, but no refund. So the from a total of £101 please add 129.73 EUR of tax, late pick up, extra insurance, +46 EUR of taxi from and to the airport + stressful phone calls all over the world for assistance. It was more than a robbery to me. It was a whole holiday ruined.

Contrary to all the bad reviews here and ther, i just return a car i rented in Bolonga Italy and i am very happy. They behave very politly on the hiring prosses. I returned the car early in the morning at 5:00 AM, missed the entrance to their place, i left the car in the public parking, returned the keys to the hole at the office. Being anxious what will happend i found out after landing that every thing was OK. they didn't over charge. I was releaved and will continue to rent at Goldcar (they are really cheap)

I hired a car from Goldcar, on the check sheet when I picked it up there 12 dents and scratches. I drove to the apartment, pretty much just left it there for 3 days and then drove back to the car hire company, and yet when I arrived back, surprise surprise but they found another scratch on the car. A small scratch very near to another one marked on the sheet but which I couldn't see, surprise surprise. I have hired cars all over the world, but it only seems to happen here and only with one or two companies, they offer cheap prices but then "find" scratches so that they can charge more. 113 euros extra profit, they will not have the scratch mended it will just appear as another x on the check sheet, what a rip off. I have insurance in the UK that I can claim this back, but I'm sure if I had taken Goldcar's extortionate extra insurance they wouldn't have found a scratch. I thought companies had moved away from this type of sharp practice in the 21st Century but apparently not. Thanks Goldcar for ending my short holiday in this way, I will not be doing business with you again.

I have rented many times in my life with other rental car companies and never face a scammer company as this one. I rented and prepaid a Category D car , when I arrived to collect my car, they told me that there are no cars on my category and they offered me a lower one ( category B) or if I want a higher category i need to pay 20 euros extra per day. I said that if they are going to give a lower category the price will need to be adjusted, the response was that it is not possible. They even offer me a Van with the extra charge of "diesel". They also tell me to wait for a few hours in case a car of my category is returned. I finally decided based on the lack of solutions to pick the lower category car and I agreed with the person at the desk that I will be back in 2 days to change the car and get the one that I contracted. Two days later i rang them before go again and what a surprise they still did not have the category car that I paid for. 'when I return the car after they guy at the desk did not bother much and purely cehck only that the deposit was full , I asked him twice if everything was fine , he said "yes everything is fine you can go" 3 days later I found that they make a charge into my card . I rang customer service and they told that the car has a damage in the back , which it is a LIE, the car was perfect and they did not do any check in front of you. As I said they are a SCAMMERS and they need to be avoid at all cost

Avoid Goldcar in Malaga, they will trick you and add hundreds of pounds extras without telling you one word. Complaining is totally useless. Shameless company. Avoid Avoid Avoid

After having a driver damage my rental car while I was sitting in it, and deny having done so, I called Goldcar to ask what I should do. I had to go to the police and file a complaint, including the number plate of the offending car. I returned the car, signed an inspection form with the counter agent, left him with a copy of the police report and was nonetheless charged for the damage and asked to repeat the same information I had already given twice. It is clear that Goldcar is not in business to make money by renting cars, but prefers to bill customers for damage to cars, without actually using the money collected to repair the cars, many of which are in pitiful shape. I know nothing about Spanish law, but in other countries, the fact of identifying a driver responsible for damaging your car means that the OTHER driver pays for the damage, not YOU. Why is that not the case in Spain?

AVOID. The car broke down. Then despite returning with a full tank of petrol they only returned half of my deposit. It seems to be there standard policy. Absolute crooks. AVOID.

People need to beware of a company that has made a business out of taking money from your credit card once they have your details. I was scammed out of over e200 from goldcar with no explanation as to why. They should be avoided at all cost. They lure you in with cheap online rental costs and then they load on the charges. Avoid.

Added over 200 Euros extras to my bill. No discussion with me. Hidden on the bill in Spanish. Worst behaviour by any car rental company I used in the last 35 years . Clear cut fraudulent behaviour. Never use their Malaga airport office ever

Alquilé el coche en el aeropuerto de Alicante, recorrí únicamente unos 50 Km, el coche me lo entregaron con 8 daños detallados en la hoja de entrega, al cogerlo veo que tiene 4 daños mas, se lo comunico a la persona que se encuentra en el lugar y me dice que saque fotos de dichos daños y las muestre en la entrega, cuando entrego el coche me dice que 2 de los daños (roce en las llantas) de los cuales tengo fotografías de que estaban en el momento de recogida, los he realizado yo y que se me cargaran en mi fianza, realizándome un cargo de 250€ Realizo la reclamación a Goldcar aportando las fotografías de esos daños y me contestan que "Dichas fotografías no son concluyentes y que no son de las llantas??"., también me contestan que dichas fotografías carecen de Fecha y Hora. Les vuelvo a enviar las fotografías sacadas con mi móvil y con la información de fecha y hora así como de la ubicación de las mismas y no recibo absolutamente ninguna respuesta. Conclusión me han engañado y dejado sin 250€, está claro que van a cazar, te dan un vehículo con múltiples arañazos y pequeños golpes, que algunos no están reflejados en la hoja de entrega, para que en la entrega tengan la justificación "suya, no la tuya" para cobrarte. Adjunto las fotos suyas y las mías.

Gold car I had a terrible experience with this company. They were rude, lazy, nasty bullies. The car parks at the airport are very confusing and I found it very difficult to find my way to their cabin. In the end I parked it as close as I could on the row below and went to ask how I could get my way to their spot. I was suffering with shingles, it was a very hot day, and I had my luggage to cart around with me. As I approached their cabin (10 second walk) there were 3 of their staff idling outside. I was so shocked when they immediately starting shouting at me. ‘Where is the car’. You have to bring it here, you can’t leave it there. I said can’t you please help me but they all just continued being incredibly rude and disrespectful. One particular man said ‘shut up and listen to me!!!! I said ‘don’t be so rude’. He then repeated himself and was barking orders at me. I was absolutely flabbergasted. I was trying to explain and get help, directions but they were all shouting over each other. Then some woman inside leaned around a corner and starting barking ‘there are great big blue directions on the road’ you have to follow them. (there were blue signs on the road, but when it came to the crucial area where you chose which turning to take you were in a queue of traffic and couldn’t see them. She spoke to me as though she thought I was absolutely stupid. Honestly I felt like I was in another dimension. Then a 5th woman joined in. she was also very unpleasant – despite being lovely when giving me the car initially. I was ordered by her to ‘pay for the car park’, I said yes of course I’ll pay the parking fee…., she waited for me to say that and then she then repeated ‘you have to pay for the car park!’ (after paying close to £1000 for the car hire I was hardly going to have a problem paying 80c for parking!) It was like one dog started barking and they all mindlessly joined in. Unbelievable behavior. I was so upset I couldn’t even get out of the car parking lot (also hindered by the fact it was in Spanish). I nearly abandoned the car at the gate. Thankfully a security guard came over and he helped me. After finally finding my way back and returning the car I turned away and walked down to the airport in tears. I couldn’t stop sobbing. In the airport I was so distraught I collapsed to the ground, I couldn’t stop crying and didn’t think I was going to be able to cope with the rest of my journey. I was in such a state and if it hadn’t been for other passengers and some of the staff I don’t know how I would have managed the rest of the journey. I would NEVER use this company again. They are an absolute disgrace.
