Never that impressed with appliances direct, first scales faulty but could not get through to anyone to sort out, I did email and get one response and then they never replied. Icontacted them again and they said they had no record. Due to customer service I would NOT recommend especially with an expensive item.

My husband bought me this to be a labour-saving device to make our breakfast orange juice. I was hoping I could juice whole oranges as indicated on the box. This is not possible! Oranges have to be peeled, cut up and de-seeded. This is a lot of labour and masses of solid waste is produced.....and the cleaning up afterwards is an added chore. The resulting juice is very slimey with a thick foam on top! I have returned to using an old fashioned hand juice squeezer and squeezing a couple of oranges every morning. Easier and quicker.

The de-humifier I bought is not working properly and I’ve been in touch with them on several emails, finally had a reply telling me to contact the manufacturer or it will take 4 to 6 weeks for them to deal with it! It took me over a week to even find this out. Not acceptable on a new item that was almost £200.00. I will now have to go through explaining to the manufacturer, meanwhile haven’t got a working de-humidifier, would not have bought from Appliances Direct if I knew, it would take so long to deal with faulty goods.

The delivery drivers did not want to take the item into the flat and refused to take the old appliance away with them. This was a service that I paid for.

I placed an order for items that were supposedly in stock. Then , next day, I got a message that they weren't and delivery date was no longer shown. Sent an online message asking for an update. Their sales line costs a fortune to call. No response. Finally got a number to call at ordinary rates. Advised 2 items were out if stock. The one I really needed was in stick but woukd take 3 days to get to me. I cancelled order and ordered elsewhere who quoted 2 day delivery, but it came in 1. This is also a company that charges extra to deliver to Inverness. All in all poor customer service which could have ended differently if they had properly advised me of order status and solutions immediately. Recommendation - get rid of your expensive sales line. 13p per minute plus network access charge.

" Thornton-Cleveleys, GB 25 reviews Published 4 seconds ago Two stars for the delivery charge!! that adds up to a last second rip off. Two stars for the delivery charge!!! £700 of goods, signed up for a consumer trial which knocked £20 off, paid through another site, when lo and behold, up pops an ADDITIONAL £19.95 FOR DELIVERY.THAT CANCELS OUT THE CONSUMER REPORT OFFER. Checked back, AND NOWHERE DOES it MENTION DELIVERY CHARGE!!!!!!! £700, AND THEY SPRING THAT ON YOU AT THE VERY VERY LAST. Total NOW is on a par with other white goods sites, so beware people, it,s a last second rip off Edit Keep"

Well ordered air conditioning next day, a week later I have a bracket for said air conditioning not the £1000 work of units. Given 13p per minute helpline number, endless telephone menus and on hold. Bounced of to the couriers, more time on hold, links to check/change delivery status on recorded messages for couriers don't work. Asked to cancel order and for a refund, told had to wait until items were returned which is difficult as they never were delivered. I was told had to wait until courier returned them, which could be never as they had not managed to get them to me hence my requesting a refund!

Just bought a £900 washing machine from these people. They delivered ok but the guy who plumbed in the machine refused to set up the machine properly, attach the sound dampeners or adjust the legs. We have a slightly wonky kitchen floor as do a lot of UK households. Left unchecked and un adjusted the machine at nearly £1000 (1400 spin speed)will get damaged by knocking against the kitchen floor. Customer services refused point blank to do anything about it except refund the plumbing cost of £20.00. There's too much "not our problem" customer service in The UK and too much "can't be arsed to perform your service properly"attitude from suppliers and their supply chain.. These dampeners were an important part of the set up and they've been completely ignored-I wouldn't mind but it would have taken the guy 5 minutes to do it. I'd have done it myself if i'd have been home but, they've just shrugged their shoulders at the wife and said "haven't got a clue" when there's clearly instructions on how to fit them. Why advertise a connection service and charge for it if you're not going to set the appliance up properly in the first place. Now i'm going to have to un-plumb the whole thing and set it up myself correctly. Disappointing Should have stuck with AO.

I purchased a freezer from Appliances Direct a couple of years ago and the purchase went ok. However, they have now decided to pester me to take out extra warranty. When I said I did not want to take out any further warranty they questioned me as to why in quite an unpleasant manner. When I repeated that I just did not want to they asked me what I would do if the appliance broke down (bear in mind none of this is any of their business). I replied that I would take that risk and if it did break down I would either repair or replace it. The salesperson then said in a very sneering way 'that's a very big risk to take with your freezer [insert first name]'. I told them not to telephone me again. I will not be purchasing any further items from this company. I dislike companies that try to bully customers into taking warranty that they don't want. I also dislike companies that use your first name (without permission) in an attempt to create a false sense of familiarity.

Everything was fine until we had a problem. We bought a dehumidifier which failed. This was replaced without question with the same brand ( their own ). Great. However the second one also failed within the warranty period. This time we were told the warranty was invalid as there was dirt in the machine. We had cleaned the filter regularly but apparently still our fault despite this being the second machine to break. We were told as a good will gesture we could have £60 towards s new machine. We were not happy but agreed as this is better than nothing. We chose a different brand as we did not want to risk the same one but were told the £60 only applied to the same machine !!! Why would we want that ? Will not purchase from them again unless this is rectified.

I ordered a tumble dryer on 16th Dec - chose AD because of the price to be honest. Should have paid the extra to get it from somewhere else. Order was meant to be delivered end Jan. Arrived through DX and Tumble was smashed - yes smashed! They wanted to not collect it until they sent out a replacement a week later, but i demanded this to be collected sooner. Two days later (and two days off work), it was collected. I called the day before the new one was meant to be delivered only to be told it wasn't the 7th Feb it was the 7th March! Therefore i cancelled it. Was not offered any compensation for their mess up. Found customer service quite rude and will not be shopping with them again, even if they are cheaper. Have gone to Curry's and have FREE delivery in two days!
